Iraqis Condemn Zarqawi's Threats

I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't heard about this story.

Iraqis on Wednesday condemned terror mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi as a foreigner determined to destroy their country, saying his new video promising more attacks may have surfaced in response to the breakthrough in the formation of a unity government. [...] Sheik Khalid al-Attiyah, the Iraqi parliament's newly appointed first deputy speaker, said the video shows that al-Zarqawi remains determined 'to inflame a civil war' in Iraq. But al-Attiyah said it also indicates the insurgent leader, an outsider to many Iraqis, fears the country's new government will unify Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds. [...] "I believe that al-Zarqawi was caught off guard by the new government taking shape because it will be very strong one representing all Iraqis," al-Attiyah said.

I read about a sunni tribal chieftian who'd turned his milita, along the syrian border, against zarqawi. evidently the marines, in this sector, have given tacit approval for them to intercept foreign jihadists infiltrating iraq.

the chief explained the jihadists were worse than the americans because they indiscriminately slaughtered women & children...sunni women & children one presumes.

You are correct. I have NOT heard about this.

al Zarqawi, has always been an invited oppurtunist, who would be thrown out on his behind when his usefulness ended. I'm more concerned about the 60% of the suicide bombers in Iraq being from Saudi Arabia. Peace
