Scott McClellan Resigns

Karl Rove will also focus more on politics and the 2006 Elections...

UPDATE: Tony Snow as a possible replacement? Personally, I'd love to see Ari Fleischer come back..

UPDATE: McClellan explained Rove's new role earlier today during the press gaggle:

Q Can you clarify what Karl Rove's role will be?

MR. McCLELLAN: Karl will continue to be Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to the President. What this will do is it will allow him to focus more on the larger strategic planning, and Joel will focus on the day-to-day management of the policy process. And so this really frees Karl up to focus on bigger strategic issues. He will continue to be a crucial voice and trusted advisor on policy -- Karl will, that is -- as he has been since the beginning of this administration.

Q So he will have less a policy role than he had before?

MR. McCLELLAN: Well, Joel will do the day-to-day management of the policy process and work closely with all those councils. Karl's voice will continue to be a crucial one in the policy process as it has been all along. But like I said, this is a critical and challenging time that we are in, and this really frees Karl up to focus on larger strategic issues.

So clearly, in contrast to insinuations by the left, Rove has not been demoted nor has he"lost resonsibilities."

Aw, man. Now whos's going to catapult the propaganda?

Posted by: Ash [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 19, 2006 12:01 PM

Talk about blame the messenger!

These liberals can't stand that Bush doesn't cave to their every wish to know this or know that, that they have forced out one of the finest public servants ever.

Liberal DemocRATS need to calm down and realize what is truly best for this nation and stop working to make Osama's dreams come true.

Propaganda? If you want propaganda I guess the President could consider hiring Michael Moore. George Soros maybe? Keith Olbermann?

Posted by: Republican Aficionado [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 19, 2006 12:03 PM

If Bush wants to do that Aficionado, heck he might as well bring in Mama Moonbat herself! :)

Posted by: Macker [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 19, 2006 12:16 PM

I like Scott but they need someone very tough - the press corps are venomous and they are out for blood...there's no more need to have a "Mr. Nice Guy" anymore. We need to have someone put them in their places...

Propaganda? By RA

Dude, I'm only using the Bushmeisters own words. Don't get mad at me.

Posted by: Ash [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 19, 2006 12:26 PM

Good riddance. Only wish more would leave. I'm thinking of one or two in particular...

Who is replacing Scotty? Did Bush decider yet?

Posted by: Barneyg2000 [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 19, 2006 12:46 PM

Yes, just what moonbats want

Karl Rove is giving up oversight of policy development to focus more on politics with the approach of the fall midterm elections, a senior administration official said Wednesday.
Now how are the democrats going to win in November, with Rove freed up from his 'policy development' role.

There is a lesson here for moonbats.
"Watch out what you ask for you may get something you didn't want".

GWB & Rove, ya done good again!

With Karl Rove focusing more on politics and the 2006 Elections, hopefully GWB and Rove can get their much sought after Guest Worker program through Congress now.

Time to let illegal aliens get the legal status in this country.

With 12 million Hispanics voting Republican their is no way Dems can take a majority.

I won't miss Scott. He was a plodder, and had a way of hesitating when tossed a question that implied that it was a tough one, or that he was trying to figure out a way to spin his answer. You could ask him the time of day and his hesitant response would make you wonder if it really was twelve o'clock and why he didn't want to tell you what time it really was.

I've been saying all along we need a charismatic spokesperson, one who can spot the BS and call it like it is and make people laugh while doing it. I think of a Bruce Willis type of personality, one who would not have gotten all bumbfuddled when pushed, for example, on something like why Cheney did not immediately rush to reward a hostile White House Press Corps by calling them when a story broke. A good press secretary would have tossed that whole line of questioning back in their faces instead of looking hounded and harried and apologetic.

As for pure propaganda, Ash, look no farther than your beloved Randi and Al, et al. That entire network is the most blatant form of factless, truthless, propaganda around, eclipsing even Planet Moore in its shamelessness.

Posted by: Almiranta [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 19, 2006 02:56 PM

Yep, the people the President and Josh Bolten are considering are: TONY SNOW, Fox News Radio Host, and former speech writer for G.HW Bush, Victoria Clark, the former Pentagon spokeswoman, and Dan Senor, the former Coalition Provisional Authority spokesman in Iraq.

I'm pulling for Tony Snow, he won't take any crap from those morons in the press room.

Aw, man. Now whos's going to catapult the propaganda?

the same folks who always do, Ash-breath--Dean, Reid, Kennedy, and Piglosi.

Why don't you get a job, or something? Oh I forgot--you're only thirteen. How 'bout a paper route?

Posted by: keefer [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 19, 2006 04:47 PM

I love that some dems are bragging about Karl's "demotion". Dummies don't realize that he is about to stop pushing papers and be 100% on beating Democrats. LOL

.... that they have forced out one of the finest public servants ever. Posted by: ConservativeCore

Now which public servant are you speaking about, the liar, the thief or the incompetant? About the only thing left for this guy to do is bend over or kneel down whichever he prefers.

Keefer glad to see your back contributing your usual drivel.

Rove is going to focus on elections - well we know they'be clean and forthright, no dirty tricks or nuthin like that. You all know the rumor about Rove right?

McClellan, through his daily on-camera briefings, became the face of the Bush abomination White House. Increasingly, as Bush's poll ratings plummet faster the blogs for bush, and the war in Iraq drags on, that face has become more opaque and troubled and uglier than ever, the briefings became more contentious.

Fending off reporters who often seem determined to drive him off message, McClellan became the butt of late-night TV comics and liberal Internet blogs for his endless repeating of set phrases and talking points and sometimes mangled sentences. I mean how could he look himself in the mirror and want to go on living?

He always suffered from not having up-to-date inside information. I had the sense that reporters never took him seriously. Reporters were frustrated because they knew he never knew more than he was saying. Why? Because he is a total IDIOT!!! Like Keefer and the rest of the cro-mags on this blog!

Posted by: mcain08 [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 19, 2006 06:10 PM

keefer, you're starting to grow on me. You remind me of a guy in my 7th grade class (every 7th grade class has someone like you). You always sat in the back of class with sunglasses on so you could sleep. You kept a pack of PallMall unfiltered cigs rolled up in your tee shirt sleeve. The teacher never said anything to you because, well you had failed 7th grade 5 times and were bigger than the teacher and almost as old. You are remembered as a legend for being the only student in the history of Isaac M. Mason Elementary School to drive to a 1962 Chevrolet BelAire to school by 8th grade.

Your hobbies were pitching pennies and giving wedgies. Once you were old enough to drive you often skipped school to set the timing on you Chevy. Basically good natured, you enjoyed teasing all the younger kids in school (which was everyone including 3 new teachers).

You have continued developing your skills and entertain the adults on this blog. Keep up the banter, Keef. I for one enjoy it!

Matt, I was thinking the same thing today as you. I think it would be great if Ari Fleischer came back. I thought he was fantastic.

Posted by: james allegro at April 19, 2006 08:49 PM

Glad to accomidate, Ash-licker--I wish I could say the same for you. However, I wish you'd go away until your brain developed. Then again, I can't wait forever. Stick around, Ash-wipe, you serve a purpose here. Not an important one, but a purpose nonetheless.

Posted by: keefer [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 19, 2006 09:55 PM

Stop it keefer, you're killing me!!!!!Hahahaha

RE: "Rove is going to focus on elections - well we know they'be clean and forthright, no dirty tricks or nuthin like that."

Unfortunately, you are probably right... nothing at all like the Democrats where every election was "stolen", where the dead and illegals vote, and where they open polls a few days early with no identification so Democrats can live up to their motto of "vote early and vote often"!

Actually, though, I would really like to see a little more fight from the Republicans. I think they should learn and use some of the Democratic "tricks". But wait... those haven't worked yet for the Democrats so maybe Republicans really should work on getting out their base and along with any rational, reasonable thinking Democrats who may still call themselves Democrats.

At least Karl Rove can now concentrate on really important matters... defeating liberals and their Democratic enablers!

Ari Fleischer was one of the best (if not the best), but as much as I would like to see him come back I don't see it happening.

It will be interesting to see who gets the job.
