Arrival Of 30,000 Aliens Ousts U.S. workers

What say you John McCain. Can you be a kind soul, and help get these family men a job that pays them $50 an hour for picking lettuce?

They sure could use it.

"We had been told that 270 jobs might be available, and we could have filled every one of them with men from this area, most of whom lost their jobs because of the hurricane," she said. "When we told the guys they would not be needed, they actually cried ... and we cried with them. This is a shame."

Yeah, it really is a low down shame that our leadership sits back and does nothing, while the next 30,000 come and and take jobs that “American’s will not do” How quaint, no one is buying that garbage excuse anymore.

Here is some well paying job that I wouldn't mind illegal's taking.

SAN FRANCISCO - Mayor Gavin Newsom said Thursday that The City will not comply with any federal legislation that criminalizes efforts to help illegal immigrants.

The mayor also denounced a bipartisan congressional proposal that would beef up border security and allow as many as 12 million illegal immigrants to gain legal status.

My family cancelled our trip to S.F. that we had planned. Going to the badlands insstead. Wouldn't spend a dime there anymore. Shame it was a nice city to the anti-American Liberals took over.

/Agreed Paul.

San Fran is such a lovely town, full of great buildings and good food; but I am ashamed of their politics and how they make our state look. It's always the loud ones who get attention.

On the one hand we have those who say that the low unemployment figures are TRUE unemployment and that there are millions of Americans out of work. True, there are Americans out of work, so what's wrong with letting Americans have a shot at as many jobs as possible?

The line that they are "jobs Americans won't do" is total and utter BS. I do believe all of us who post here (no matter which side here) have work some "bad" jobs in our lives. Be it picking produce, busing tables, cafateria work, janatorial, painting houses, lawn work, or what have you over the years to get by. You do what you have to when you want to earn money. Heck, half of these "jobs Americans won't do" should be filled by kids trying to get work experience. Or those who are down on their luck trying to get back on their feet.

So what are we doing? We're letting illegals come in and take these jobs for less then anyone should work for in this country. They are being used in terrable ways and some are near slaves to this kind of situation. And I don't just mean Mexicans. Sure it's the first thing most people think of but there are illegals of other nationalities toiling under the same problems.

Can you tell this is one of my "hot button" topics?

Gozer, apparantly it is quite a few other folks hot button as well.

So..... you are not alone, not by a long shot. I am betting that the Congress types will hear it long and loud the next two weeks while they are on Easter break.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE.... WHILE HERE IN USA YOU ARE TRYING TO MAKE IMMIGRANTS CRIMINALS, IN CANADA THE GOVERNMENT IS TRYING TO CORRECT THE MISTAKES. CANADA IS STOPPING DEPORTATIONS AND TRYING TO GIVE TEMPORARY WORK PERMITS TO UNDOCUMENTED PERSONS. THE LAW IS NOT ALLOWING THEM TO BE CALLED ILLEGALS AS THE WORD ILLEGAL HAS A MEANING OF CRIMINAL, AND TO REFORM IMMIGRATION LAWS.
THE MINISTER OF IMMIGRATION OF ONTARIO CANADA
MIKE COLLE IS SAYING THAT THE CAMPAIGN IS "SUPPORT,DON'T DEPORT""
HE SAID THAT UNDOCUMENTED ALLIENS ARE ONLY VICTIMS OF A BROKEN SYSTEM

ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS SHOW PROOF THAT WHILE THEY HAVE BEEN IN CANADA THEY HAVE NOT COMMITED ANY CRIMES.

BOTH IN CANADA AND IN THE USA IMMIGRATION IS IMPORTANT. I AM AN IMMIGRANT WHO CAME LEGALLY TO THE USA, HOWEVER, I HAD TO WAIT FOR 15 YEARS TO BE REUNITED WITH MY FAMILY, IT TOOK SO LONG THAT NOW MY OLDEST SON HAS SURPASSED THE 21 YEAR OLD AGE LIMIT AND HE WAS NOT ABLE TO COME WITH ME. NOW I HAVE TO START IMMIGRATION PROCEEDINGS FOR MY SON. WOULD I HAVE TO WAIT ALSO 15 YEARS FOR HIM TO BE ABLE TO COME?? IS THIS CORRECT???
I KNOW MANY PEOPLE WHO ARE HERE BUT HAVE THEIR HUSBANDS, WIFES, PARENTS, CHILDREN IN OTHER COUNTRIES AND CANNOT WAIT THE 15 YEARS THAT I WAITED, BROKEN FAMILIES, LOTS OF SUFFERING. IT SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BE LIKE THAT.

Have we forgotten that this country was founded by immigrants, not legal immigrants. Or have we all forgotten how the the United States was settled. You are not going to tell me that the Indians sent us a special invitation to invade their country. No. We came in illegally looking for fredoom and a better life. Isn't that what this country stands for? Instead of attacking our immigrants we should offer them the opportunity that many of us came looking for.

"Instead of attacking our immigrants we should offer them the opportunity that many of us came looking for.
"

You mean like taking jobs away from U.S. citizens who are willing to do the job? Thanks for the offer but I will pass. beside what part of illegal doesn't anyone understand.

If I were younger.....I.d pick lettuce for less than $50 an hour. But alas I'm not young and doubt I could pick my nose for a whole season.

"Can you be a kind soul, and help get these family men a job that pays them $50 an hour for picking lettuce?"

This is obviously a misprint. No one makes $50 an hour picking lettuce. It should say $5.

Posted by: Raymond at April 10, 2006 11:31 AM

I wonder about those that seem to think that ALL liberals support illegal immigration. Most of those LIBERALS I know, DON'T. I have been saying before all the radcons started REPEATING it, "what part of illegal do YOU not understand." I AM a liberal. I do NOT support ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION and I am NOT a minority in that VIEW!

"This is obviously a misprint. No one makes $50 an hour picking lettuce. It should say $5."

bullcrap that is what McCain said. Union booed him. read the article before jumping in and looking rather silly.

Posted by: vero at April 10, 2006 12:36 PM

As a liberal, I ask...."what part of illegal does this administration and many of the elected repugNUTS NOT understand!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I, and many of MY counterparts, liberals, do NOT endorse illegal immigration. Some foolish racons like to THINK we do but that is just their BushbabyGOP rheteric and propaganda. Too bad those who continue to prate that party line just prove they are members of the GOP party's brain-dead FOLLOWERS!

Illegal immigrants are 'illegal' because you dont want them coming over in the first place, and do the stupid things you do for a ridiculous payscale (like 50$ for picking noses).

If an immigrant can do it for 5$ and you want 50$ for it, you are the idiot, not he.

You guys are all commies that's all. Cant stand competition.

"If an immigrant can do it for 5$ and you want 50$ for it, you are the idiot"

Which is why we have unions and minimum wages.

Who wants to go back to neolithic times when the Neanderthal with the most clubs had everything?

We welcome people of all nations to the United States. But don't come here and start waving your flag in our faces and tell us that you built this country!
