Progress For Women In Middle East

The Christian Science Monitor reports...

The landmark political participation of women in Kuwait's election Tuesday is part of a regional trend in the Arab Gulf states, where women are growing more publicly vocal about political matters. Qatar recently announced that it would hold first ever parliamentary elections in 2007, in which women will be allowed to vote.

President Bush has led the way for freedom and liberty in the Middle East, and our troops are makiing it happen. The Kuwait story is just one of the many new liberties and freedoms that women and children have now. In Afghanistan, women can vote and run for political office, something never before imagined under the fascist taliban regime. The same exact thing is happening in Iraq. People can actually vote for who they want to now, that's democracy.

All that people see is the killing, but what they don't see is what those people are dying for. YOUR FREEDOM and THEIR FREEDOM, for THEIR CHILDRENS FREEDOM and generations to come. Don't you see that there is a much bigger picture here more than any of us can imagine? We are defeating the people who destroyed those buildings on September 11th, and al-Qaeda is running. Freedom is winning, and facism and oppressive regimes are hiding, they are fighting, but only because they know that their days are numbered.

FREEDOM TRUMPS OPPRESSION everytime, and we will win in Iraq, and Iraq WILL become the shining light for freedom and liberty in the Middle East and when others realize what Iraq has become it will force other countries to change as well. Because every human YEARNS to be free.

Keep fighting the good fight Mr. President, history will place you alongside the Founding Fathers for their dedication and firm belief that every human yearns for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

It works only in countries that we do not invade illegally. Peace

Hate to tell you this, but women having the right to vote is a liberal idea. Remember, Ann Coulter doesn't think women should have this right... She notes that if women were still disinfranchised, Republicans would have won every election since Truman. Whether or not this statement is true, the fact remains that women gaining rights is a liberal ideology.

We've already seen it work, from reasons I've stated previously. Obviously, you have nothing valid to say...

born,

Indeed...which makes us wonder just why liberals don't support what we're doing in the War on Terrorism...if Islamo-fascist terrorism isn't worth fighting, then nothing is...

ohh snap.

Guys, let's not turn this into another color-coded argument. I'm sure we can all agree that this is unbiased good news for the region.

Agreed with Alf. Its stupid to put something as intrinsic as womens rights into a Left vs Right position.

If coulter wants to be a facist it doesnt mean opposing her is by definition 'Liberal'. What is it with you people needing to be Liberal or GOP on everything? Think for yourselves for once.
