If You Are Going To Shoot At The Marines, It's Going To Be The Last Day Of Your Life
Sage advice from the Marines to the terrorists...and a great news story about the battle in Iraq:
HUSAYBAH, Iraq — Marines on Thursday marched though garden courtyards, climbed over crumbling stone walls and ducked under clotheslines as they continued their house-by-house search of this Syrian border city and neared the close of one of their largest operations in months.
With chalky cliffs and the Euphrates River valley looming to the north, Marines swept steadily through the city on the sixth day of fighting, as the stiff resistance seen earlier in the week had largely faded away.
“At this point, we think most of the insurgents have left the area,” said Capt. Ross. Parrish, 31, of Destrahan, La...
...Capt. Brian Gilbertson of Wisconsin was one of many Marines who believed that the enemy fled after seeing the number of troops here and the fierce assault the U.S. forces were prepared to mount.
“Word definitely got around: If you are going to shoot at the Marines, its going to be the last day of your life,” he said.
The critics of the war think there is a bottomless well of people willing to stand up to us...that there will always be terrorists willing to take on the Marines. Well, there aren't - after you've lost 10 to 1 against the Marines - and the rest of the American military - a few times, you start to become unwilling to take them on. Certainly, as President Bush noted, the leaders of the terrorists never seem to want to take that ride to "martyrdom" with the schmucks who strap on bombs. We've got them on the run - they can murder, but they cannot win.

10 to 1. About the same ratio as Nam. They said the Cong would give up. The wingnuts wearing rose-colored glasses were wrong that time too.

Karen,
Had the reporting after Tet been, "the enemy threw everything they have at us, and lost" then the predictions of the "wingnuts" would have been correct...it took treason here at home to lose us the Vietnam war....and it is traitors here at home today who are trying to engineer another American defeat.
Sorry, but we won't oblige you - there will never be another Siagon, 1975 in American history.

Not good enough.
They flee the Marines, only to move to Jordan.
Only when the whole world denies them room to move will this plague end.
I just hope the Marines don't squeeze the terrorists into North America.

I'm not sure if it's the Army or the Marines that has as it's unnoficial slogan this, "you can run but you'll just die tired." I love that!

OOHRAH baby, Karen get a brain. We lost vietnam for one reason and one reason only. Those of you without the stomach for neccessary war turned the massess with your lies. If you don't believe me look up the statistics in the vietnam war, we were and would have won if we had stayed the course. What made it such a horrible loss was the withdrawal and the amount of civilians killed after the withdrawal. We will not allow you moonbats that luxury again.

I have a Marine friend who is serving in Iraq right now. This summer, before he returned to Iraq for his second tour of duty, he described how the Marines took out this terrorist who was shooting at other Marines. Heh, heh, heh. I won't divulge the details on the internet, but that terrorist never knew what hit him. What was left of him was scattered in a thousand different places. Never, ever, fire on a U.S. Marine, unless you are prepared to die-because you will. Semper fi!

good to hear from you freedom1, I know exactly what you mean. I was somewhat impressed by the stories my bro brought back with him too(101st screaming eagles). Although they definitely care way more than the marines when it comes to political front.

BearmanUSMC, right back at ya!
President Bush's no-holds-barred speech made my day! I hope we hear many more of these speeches. The terrorists are gonna rue the day they hit us, because we are going to destroy them!!!

I know we are suppose to support the troops, but Bush cut hazard pay, won't give them armored vehicles, won't buy them body armor, cut funding to VA hospitals, closed VA hospitals, forcing injured soldiers to pay for their own meals while they are in the hospital, and more.
Supporting the troops is more than a slogan. Bush needs to back up his words with actions. Quite cutting funding for government agencies that help injured vets hurt in this war.

You spew talking points trash once again! I'll admit that the government(not one man) is not perfect in the way they treat our guys. But there are reasons behind some of the trash you spew, the other trash is just downright false.

Only two people understand a Marine;
1. Other Marines.
2. The enemy.

SemPer Fi Marines. I'm a combat Vet from the Nam. I was with a rifle co. 1st Bn. 26th Marines. I went over with the entire Battalion in 1966. We kicked butt big time. I also spent my last 8 months in Khe Sanh, wish I could be with you jar heads right now along side of you, and let me tell you brother your back would be covered. I am so proud of you men.

We cannot afford another Mogadishu. The bad guys learned from that and they expect that out of us once again. We need to finish this job, kill the bad guys then give that god forsaken country of Iarq back to the Iraquis. Then we move on to the rest of this War On Terror. You see the real difference between our side and the other side is that we know that we are in a war, the Dems, refuse to believe it. Thank God, they are not in charge of anything, other than watching Fat Teddy's Bar Bill!
